Hershey Symphony: Immortal Beloved

8:00 PM
Valentine’s Day weekend brings “Immortal Beloved” to celebrate Ludwig Van Beethoven’s 250th birthday!  “Immortal Beloved”, or as Beethoven put it “Unsterbliche Geliebte”, refers to the mysterious recipient of Beethoven’s unsent love letters, discovered at his estate after his death.  The mystery may never be solved, so the orchestra will play some music to try to take your minds off of it.

The concert opens with the Fidelio Overture followed by Odin Rathnam once again gracing the solo spotlight to perform Beethoven’s Violin Concerto in D Major.  Concluding the concert, you’ll hear the four most famous notes in all of music history, the opening to Beethoven’s 5th Symphony.  And, as a bonus, the orchestra will play the remaining 35 minutes of the symphony as well.
