
The Curtain Rises Again: Renovations Are Complete!
Since opening in 1933, Hershey Theatre has served as a pillar of cultural enrichment for our community. The Theatre remains a steadfast reminder of Mr. Hershey’s vision to bring the arts to Hershey through its stunning architecture and world-class performances.
We extend our sincere thanks to you, our patrons and community, for your patience and support throughout our year-long renovation. This carefully planned project focused on essential infrastructure upgrades while honoring and preserving the Theatre’s historic character.
Improvements include:
- Completely refurbished heating, ventilation and air conditioning
- New mechanical and electrical systems
- 1,904 new seats
- New carpeting
- New LED lighting throughout
- Additional aisle lighting
- Improved wi-fi connectivity
- New handrails in balcony aisles (coming May/June)
- Additional removable armrests to facilitate wheelchair transfer
- Improved pedestrian crossing
- Improved parking lot spaces, lighting and green space
- New sidewalks and exterior paver plaza
- Modernized assisted-listening system (coming in April)
- Modernization of the stage
- New orchestra pit lift
- New enclosed loading dock to streamline show load-ins
- Expanded and improved building’s sprinkler system
- New emergency generator
- New water and sewer pipes
- Remodeled dressing rooms
- Refurbished, historically-inspired marquis
